Winter Wonderland Window Snowflake Card

The students will create an interactive snowflake holiday card that opens to reveal a special message and window scene for their loved ones. Students will be able to define and recognize radial symmetry in nature by constructing their own intricate snowflake patterns that open up to reveal 6 matching sides. They will learn the art of making customized snowflakes step by step with a scissor cutting exercise to help develop focus and fine motor skills to become precise with their designs. This is a piece that they can proudly display in their house next to their real window to remind their loved ones how special they are to them. A learning objective, subject summary and application in real life, materials needed for each student and the step by step directions needed to create this lesson are all detailed in each of my lesson plans.
