A comprehensive evacuee lesson for your Second World War history topic which asks pupils to write a letter in the role of an evacuee by first examining a real letter text and then planning and writing their own. The lesson includes reference photographs, a guided reading text in the form of a real transcribed evacuee letter and also writing frames for differentiation purposes. This is a great way to use literacy to bring history to life with this imaginative writing exercise. Can be used for a straight WW2 topic, or for any work with a blitz/Battle of Britain/evacuees focus.
