This notebook provides a sequence of learning that could last up to 2 to 3 lessons. It goes back to basic to ensure children have a solid understanding of what perimeter is, then moves on to look at perimeter of rectilinear shapes encouraging and exploring the most efficient method.
Varied methods are encouraged and opportunities to explore these are important. Sentence stems are also used to support children with embedding and articulating their understanding of perimeter.
