Y5 The Hobbit Graphic Novel Writing unit - 4 outcomes.

This writing unit is pitched at Y5. It was originally delivered in the summer term, therefore outcomes are more child friendly. To deliver, we used the graphic novel version of The Hobbit. Writing outcomes include:

1.Persuasive advert
2.Top Trump Cards
3. Play Script for a scene
4. Persuasive letter

Skills focus: modal verbs, parenthesis, blendign description, action and dialogue elements, relative clauses and expanded noun-phrases.

The unit includes lesson plan, modelling powerpoint and lessons resources.

*Note, the first three weeks of grammar starters are planned for and included. The last week grammar starters are to be inserted, to address gaps that your class need revision of ahead of Y6).
