Y6 is coming to a close shortly therefore we decided to let them choose their own topic to discuss. Each activity they will have completed their own indepedent research for.
Week two of publishing has much shorter lessons due to Ramadan and the children’s fasting schedule.

WEEK ONE:

Lesson two: Deconstruct a balanced argument, identify its key features and their purpose. [Full credit to balanced debate WAGOLL Site where I found this WAGOLL and updated it myself].
Lesson three: Use facts and statistics appropriately to support our argument.
Lesson four: Use modal verbs and adverbs appropriately to persuade the reader to support our perspective.
Lesson five: Use our prior knowledge to spell a range of words with different rules. (Test style questions).

WEEK TWO:
Lesson six: Plan our balanced argument.
Lesson seven: Draft our balanced argument.
Lesson eight: Edit our balanced argument using peer assessment.
Lesson nine: Publish our balanced argument.
Lesson ten: Use our prior knowledge to spell a range of words with different rules. (Test style questions).
