This Year 1 science resource helps children to identify, name and compare a variety of common animals, with a particular focus on carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. Children will learn useful topic-related words, be posed interesting questions (Think-lets), follow highly structured teaching slides (Teach-lets) about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and have their scientific knowledge and understanding assessed throughout (Quiz-lets).

This resource provides 4 increasingly difficult challenges. Easier challenges ask children to complete sentences about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. Moderate challenges ask children to label groups of animals and harder challenges ask children to reason and compare the similarities and differences between carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. All answers are provided.
