A one week unit of work (five lessons) on setting descriptions for Year 2 using the text The Tin Forest. This unit would be used after the children have read and understood the text, such as in a whole class reading unit.
All the lessons are on powerpoint that can be used with the children, there are teacher planning notes for each slide. Each lesson consists of a starter, main/activity and plenary.
The objectives covered mainly focused on good sentence structure and clear, coherent narratives that use nouns (as the subject), verbs (as the predicate) and clear stops.
A great unit for early on in year 2 when children are building their writing stamina.
