This pack includes a PPT with video links to help pupils understand why the sun appears to move in the sky, drawing on scientific knowledge.
Two tasks are also included which encourage pupils to attach time, possible activities they may be doing and the sun’s direction as the day progresses.
The ‘using it’ task provides a scaffolded passage-filling task using a scientific word bank to explain the sun’s apparent movement across the school. The ‘owning it’ task is for higher-ability pupils, providing them with no scaffold and greater expectations for the activities included.
