Year 6 Autumn Term Maths Revision 'Treasure Hunt' reasoning/arithmetic collaborative task

This is a ‘fun’, collaborative, active lesson for some end of term maths revision where children can apply their learning from the Autumn Term to solve 16 reasoning (and a couple of arithmetic) questions. Topics include four operations, negative numbers, lowest common multiple, fractions of amounts, sqaured and cubed numbers, measures and order of operations.
Simply print off the 16 question/answer cards, stick them up around the classroom/playground/area in school and send children off in pairs/small groups to solve each question. Once they’ve solved a problem, they hunt for their answer on the 15 remaining cards which will give them the next question to solve, and so on. Children can record the calculation and answer in their book/on scrap paper. First group to solve all 16 problems can return to the teacher for ‘a prize’.
Also included my very basic PPT introduction slide which explains the task and shows an example question card. Correct sequence of answers are included on front page of resource plus a few other ideas for early finishers.
A good, simple way to get kids moving, talking and revising concepts. Hope you find it helpful and time-saving!
