This pack is Autumn themed and will work across countries but it is tailored for the UK.
Made to fall in-line with the New National Curriculum 2014, this pack is to be used with Year 2 Place Value and Ordering objectives. All activities have the objective as worded in the curriculum on the top (no use of LO/ WALT/ LI to ensure it is useable across schools) and space for names. There is a mix of activities for group/guided work and independent reinforcement activities.
Included-
pg3-5 Large squirrel cards with >< and = signs to use for group work and displays
pg6-8 ‘Greater Than and Less Than’ comparison activity- 3 large sheets for group work
pg9-10 > and < lift the flap cut outs and sheet to stick on and record.
pg11 Model for how the lift the flap sheets should look
pg12-14 ‘Squirrel Comparison’ cards with numbers on and missing signs. Use as a set of task cards or a treasure hunt/ scoot activity.
pg15/16 ‘Squirrel Comparison’ recording sheet- this sheet is set up so that it can also be used as an independent worksheet without the task cards. Answer sheet is also included.
pg17-20 ‘Comparison Hunt’ 8 acorn cards with measures either mm, cm or meters on. Place around the room/ scatter on a table and used to provide the answers to the questions on the recording sheet such as ‘Find a measure which is equal to (=) 6cm _____’. Answer sheet is also included.
pg21 Numbers to 100 square with numbers missing- children need to write in the missing numbers.
pg22 ‘Ordering Apples’ worksheet. Crosses from a number square with several numbers missing- using number ordering and place value knowledge, children fill in the missing numbers.
pg23-25 ‘Count On Me’ board game and number sequence playing cards- for 2-4 players. Rules and answers included.
pg26 ‘What comes next? colour the next number in the sequence worksheet.
pg27-29 Number sequence jigsaws- answers are all multiples of 10
pg30-32 ‘Cut, Sequence and Stick’ none consecutive numbers activity sheet- 3 levels of differentiation
pg 33-34 ‘Spin and Sequence’ none consecutive numbers activity sheet- 2 levels of differentiation.
