The Super Bros Activity Pack has been inspired by the Super Mario movie and the Super Mario franchise of games! It’s packed full with cross-curricular activities meaning that whilst your Super Mario fan is having fun indulging their interest they’ll also be learning lots too! You may also like to take a look at our new Holiday Activity Pack and our new Artist’s Yearbook What’s in the Super Bros Activity Pack? Your child will: Create a new kart for Mario Conduct independent research into Italy, fungi and dinosaurs Design mushroom variations Play Mario Match Up and Mario Mayhem Make their own Mario movie Draw Goomba and Toad using step-by-step instructions Conduct themed experiments to explore oxidisation, absorption, capillary action and density Relax with creative art, wordsearches, mazes and other fun puzzles Design their own character Learn some Italian Whip up Mario’s Perfect Pizza, Luigi’s Power Up Pasta and Princess Peach Cobbler in the kitchen Email Nintendo with constructive criticism Create character profiles Extend story starters (some of which use the original game back stories) Answer Toad’s tricky questions Save the day in several themed Lego challenges Get creative with pixel art and character colouring Build a balloon rocket And lots more! Your child will be developing skills including: Reading, writing & comprehension Geography knowledge & skills Critical thinking Problem solving & resilience Number facts & maths concepts Art & design STEM (science, technology, engineering & maths) What age is the Super Bros Activity Pack suitable for? Our age recommendation for this pack is approximately 5/6- 10/11 years. However, we always say that ability is very subjective; what will be right for one child won’t necessarily be right for another of the same age. It may well be suitable for younger or older children depending on how enthusiastic they are about the theme and activities. The tasks can be completed to your child’s own level. We would expect older/more able children to work mostly independently, in more depth and with the option of extending activities with follow-on tasks and research. Younger children may record responses as pictures rather than words. They may respond verbally and have answers scribed for them or work as part of a team with an adult. Our packs are designed to be accessible to a large age range. We (of course) advocate thoroughly researching any game before agreeing to your child playing it. In particular it is important to ensure the parental controls and safeguarding options are utilised as well as making sure your child understands how to be safe online. Many games offer the option to play offline, in a realm or using a private server. Those that don’t usually have the option to limit how your child can interact with others (for example by disabling chat features).
