Every year and sometimes every term you get at least 5 kids piping up demanding elephants toothpaste, they've all seen it in youtube and now they want it first hand, hey, who can argue with the demand. Brilliant lesson for year 7 particularly for them just getting the hang of BiG Skool expectations. The lesson walks you through idea that white light is actually split into different wavelengths, the human eye ony recognises three and our brain fills in all the blanks, by spinning spinner faster than our eye can recogise we can trick our brain into recognising white light. A colour printer is useful for low ability, but high abilities will LOVE getting thier fancy big skool colouring pens out. A damn tough lesson to teach, but actually a really simple concept, stuff gets hot, stuff jiggles about, stuff spreads out. Keep it simple and you cant go wrong, you’ll need a worksheet, I use kerboodles for this but the really key bit, suprisingly is the exceptionally childish narrative exercise, get kids writing silly stories about Jimmy the drip and it tattoos the information onto their brain stem!
