AQA English Language Paper 1 Section A Q4 lesson for the new 2026 exam papers which have some changes from the old pre-2025 papers. We explore the key skills needed to master Q4 in the exam, analysing an extract from a specimen paper. We explore Q4 and look at how to evaluate a text based around a given statement , including looking at a range of student answers and judging how well they have met the key skills required and the success criteria for answering the task. We use these answers and our findings to edit and redraft our answers, making improvements to Q4 answers. This lesson will lead into further lessons about critical evaluation and evaluative skills for Q4 as part of a new unit of work/scheme of learning.
