As we continue to study Tom Becker’s Darkside, we look at how the writer builds up tension in Chapter Seven and plot out a tension graph based on the changing tension within the chapter. A really useful lesson for KS3 students and some interesting activities that could be adapted for KS4. Fully differentiated throughout.

This activity focuses on the story of Guy Fawkes and the plotters, their plans and how they were caught and executed, before investigating why we don’t celebrate foiled terrorist plots today. Romeo and Juliet lesson on identity. A fully differentiated and resourced lesson that focuses on the conclusion of Act 1 Scene 5 and analyses the Chorus at the start of Act 2 as well as Romeo’s plans to see Juliet again. The lesson looks at how Shakespeare uses juxtaposition to describe Romeo and Juliet’s conflicting minds and places the students in the position of Romeo as he contemplates how to see Juliet once more. A very useful language analysis lesson for all KS4 and KS4 students.
