There is a writing frame for students to follow to help analyse each extract and ensure they meet the criteria for A01, A02 and A03.

Writing frame for comparing Storm on the Island and Exposure (AQA Power and Conflict). The AQA style exam question is as follows: Compare the ways the poets in Storm on the Island and one other poem (Exposure) present conflict with nature.

A useful for activity for helping students to remember key quotations while also testing their understanding of the novel as a whole. The quotations have been carefully selected to cover a range of themes. The answer sheet is also included.

This was great for teaching students how to compare two poems from the Power and Conflict section of the anthology. Students follow the detailed writing frame to complete the comparison using the prompts and structure provided. The writing frame guides students to ensure they meet the criteria for A01, A02 and A03. A comprehensive A3 revision sheet for ‘A Christmas Carol’ with differentiated tasks. It includes key quotations from each stave and various ways of making links to context for A03. The differentiated tasks encourage students to Bronze: Find language features in the quotations Silver: Match the quotations and context to themes Gold: Work out the 10 quotations which can be adapted to suit the most themes. Also includes a planning resource offering 3 levels of differentiation to help guide students on how to structure a full length response on the following 4 themes/topics: children, materialism, ghosts, Christmas.
