9 High level Macbeth responses to a range of GCSE style questions.
Includes essays on guilt, Macbeth, Banquo, women, Lady Macbeth, witches.
All responses have been designed to reflect the realistic achievements of the highest achieving students in Year 11.
Some responses are clearly grade 9. Others you may feel could be grade 8 depending on the grade boundaries in any particular year but all have moments of critical exploration required for the top band.

The collection has grown to 11 consistently thoughtful and sometimes perceptive and assured exam responses to A Christmas Carol. I am not going to claim they are grade 9 because the grade boundaries are volatile but all the essays are coherent, well-argued responses with thoughtful and often perceptive exploration of methods, word choices and writer’s wider ideas.

Many are in band 6 due to having judicious quotations, fine-grained analysis of methods, discussions about the various connotations of word choices (A02) combined with convincing exploration of wider contextual factors and themes linked to the methods (A03).

Give students the attached top 50 quotations revision sheet.
Ask them to make notes on each big idea using the sheet.
Then go through the model answers on the PowerPoint. Each answer appears on a mouse click so you can talk through each answer one by one.
