The collection has grown to 11 consistently thoughtful and sometimes perceptive and assured exam responses to A Christmas Carol. I am not going to claim they are grade 9 because the grade boundaries are volatile but all the essays are coherent, well-argued responses with thoughtful and often perceptive exploration of methods, word choices and writer’s wider ideas. All responses have been formatted to snugly fit onto one page for ease of printing. I have made up my own extracts and questions. Many are in band 6 due to having judicious quotations, fine-grained analysis of methods, discussions about the various connotations of word choices (A02) combined with convincing exploration of wider contextual factors and themes linked to the methods (A03).

Ask them to make notes on each big idea using the sheet. Then go through the model answers on the PowerPoint. Each answer appears on a mouse click so you can talk through each answer one by one. Also includes 6 exam questions to plan on one printer-friendly planning sheet.
