A lesson and homework based on unfamiliar listening and examination technique. There is also an example of a 10 mark extended answer with plan for each musical element to help students pinpoint what to write about. All sections of the lesson have differentiated success criteria, as does the homework task.

This is a set of 4 lessons and an extra summary (homework or classwork) to support the advance information for Eduqas Section B of Bach’s Badinerie. The series of lessons includes facts required for section B as well as comparison and contrast to section A. There is answers throughout as well as differentiation and colour coded facts depending on target grade.

Cards for performing, composing and appraising which can be used by students at KS2 and 3 to further stretch and challenge them in lessons. Usually printed on 3 different coloured cards, they can be selected by students when completing any work and they should be able to link the extra challenge to what they are completing.

A pack of 3 sheets which describe each section of the Eduqas GCSE Set Work Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. All features of the set works are included so students can annotate their scores. There is also a short test (with answers) to be completed after each sheet is completed so you can test their understanding. Each sheet has graded success criteria. These sheets can work well for revision, flip learning or homework activities.

This series of 5 or more lessons aims to analyse the full movement of the Bach set work for Edexcel GCSE Music. All powerpoints attached have differentiated success criteria and answers for all questions which ask students to analyse different features. The series of lessons begins with context of Bach and the Baroque period and then focuses on analysing through playing. There are also extended question (4/5 marks) added into the powerpoints to test learning as you go. There is also a Sibelius 6 files (please ask if you would like this converting lower) with all of the instrumental parts for section A (you can then use this as a backing track to perform to and change the tempo where necessary, all parts can then be transposed and printed as you require for your class). There is also a fully annotated score attached.

A resource which compares the set work of Wicked to 2 other pieces in preparation for the essay question (question 9). The scores for the unfamiliar pieces are attached. The links to audio are on the pp along with ideas and plans for each of the 2 questions. This could take 2 lessons (along with writing the essays) or be the preparation for an assessment or homework. A series of 4 lessons based on Grieg’s ‘In the hall of the mountain king’, Stravinsky’s Firebord suite and Adams’ Short ride in a fast machine. These pieces are used as a stimulus to perform sections of classical music and create compositions in the western classical genre. All resources are differentiated. 3-5 lessons which revise the Beethoven set work-Sonata in C minor. Lesson 1 focuses on the key features of the movement and categorises the musical elements into the main features of the piece e.g. piano and sonata form. The lessons is differentiated with success criteria and has answers included. This also focuses on the main musical elements and how you would describe them in an essay. This would take more than 1 hour long lesson. Lesson 2-3 focuses on the extended answer for Question 9 in the exam by picking out the main features for all the musical elements and trying to explain them to ensure AO4 is achieved in the answer.
