Children must listen carefully to the who has question and see if they have a picture that matches the letter. These cards help children to think about letter names and sounds and to recognise capital letters. These cards can be started on any card. Alphabet Letter Loop Cards Two sets of alphabet loop cards. One set covers finding capital letters and the other set covers finding lower case letters. Each set of loop cards includes 26 loop/follow me cards. Each card features a capital or a lower case letter and a who has __ question. Children must listen carefully to the who has question and see if they have the matching capital or lower case letter. These cards help children to think about letter names and to recognise capital and lower case letters. These cards can be started on any card. The activity could be used during phonics lessons, as an intervention for any children requiring extra support or in the lead up to the phonics screening. A good activity to support children to recognise sounds plus spell and read words. Phonics Activity Workbook A fun phonics activity workbook covering vowel digraphs and trigraphs. Each new ‘special friend’ sound has three workbook pages - one to practise writing real words, one to identify alien words and one to complete a sentence using the focus sound in a word. There is a space on the sentence writing page for children to draw a picture to match their sentence. This activity workbook could be completed as part of a group, independently or could be sent home as home learning/homework. I have also used this workbook as Early Morning Work for children to practise their phonics. The workbook supports children to become more confident with each focus sound and as the activities are repeated for each new sound the children can become more independent when completing the workbook. Split Digraph Word Maker A set of 20 word maker cards, a sheet of vowel sounds and 10 Phonics worksheets. These cards cover split digraphs only. Children can pick either a word maker card or a sound card and then see how many split digraph words they can make with the cards by placing the sound card onto the word maker card. There are also 10 Phonics worksheets that children can use alongside the word maker cards. The worksheets cover real and alien words, rhyme, sentence making, word meaning, word sorting activities.
