Writing Activity Book A set of 30 pictures each with a question to be answered for example describe the bear, who lives here? Children to answer the question using all of the skills that they have learnt in English. This activity book could be used with KS1 or KS2 and the teacher could add a challenge for example you must include a question, you must use commas in a list. The activity book gives the children an opportunity to write freely and demonstrate their abilities. Word Collector Book A word collector book for children to collect a range of words that they can then refer to and use in their written work. The pages in this book are - Amazing Adjectives Valuable Verbs Adventurous Adverbs Noble Nouns Words instead of nice Words instead of said Words linked to size and shape Words linked to colours Words linked to emotions Words linked to characteristics Words linked to the five senses Words linked to material Each page includes either a definition or some key words. Children could have their own copy of the word collector book or there could be a class copy completed with the children. The word collector book helps to expand children’s vocabulary and encourages children to consider the words that they choose to include in their written pieces. Aimed at Key Stage 1 children however could also be used with Lower Key Stage 2 children.

Noun Games A set of 8 common noun games. These games help children to identify, describe and talk about nouns. The games include lots of colourful, interesting pictures. There is also a poster that explains what a noun is. Aimed at KS1 children but could be used with lower KS2 to recap common nouns. Adjective Loop/Follow Me Cards A set of 20 adjective loop/follow me cards. Each card features a picture and a list of three adjectives. Children must listen carefully to the three adjectives and see if they match the picture on their card. These cards can be started on any card. Children enjoy playing this game and it teaches them to think about adjectives. Using Adjectives Game A set of 4 game boards focusing on using adjectives. Each game board features a picture scene and numbered squares. Some squares contain an instruction for children to follow eg say 2 adjectives to describe the sky or find something in the picture that is unusual. Children enjoy playing the game and using adjectives. The game encourages children to use a range of adjectives and introduces children to new adjectives. These game boards can be printed on A3 paper and laminated to be used more than once. Adjectives Bingo A set of 9 different bingo boards containing pictures of toys and a set of adjective clues. Children must listen to the adjective clues and check if they have a picture that matches the adjective clues. Fill in the Adjective Game A game focusing on adjectives. The game includes five pictures with sets of sentences to match each picture. Each sentence has a space for an adjective eg The ________ moon is shining in the sky. Children have to think of an adjective to go in the space. If children think of an adjective that nobody else thinks of then they win a point. The aim of the game is to collect three points to win. Children enjoy playing the game and sharing their adjectives. Match the Adjective Game A set of ten pictures and 40 adjective cards. Children select a picture and then pick an adjective card. If children can use the adjective in a sentence about the picture then they keep the card. The aim of the game is to collect three cards to win. This game introduces children to a range of adjectives and encourages children to use these adjectives in sentences.

Positive Quotes and Affirmations Posters A set of 16 positive quotes and affirmations posters. These posters include positive quotes and positive affirmations to encourage children to see themselves and talk about themselves in a positive manner. The posters can be printed and laminated and displayed in the classroom either as a whole set or they could be displayed one or two at a time and changed regularly. Positive Affirmations Sentence Starter Cards A set of 16 positive affirmation sentence starter cards. These cards include positive affirmations such as I am caring because and I am brave because. Each card starts with I am and children have to complete the sentence. The cards encourage children to talk about themselves in a positive manner. The cards can be printed and laminated or displayed in the classroom or can be viewed on the interactive whiteboard. Children can choose a card to respond to or all children can respond to the same card. Aimed at Early Years and Key Stage 1 children but could also be used with Key Stage 2 children Positivity Worksheets A set of 30 positivity worksheets for children to complete. The worksheets encourage children to think positively. The topics include - what is your favourite dinner, how did you make someone smile yesterday, what makes you proud. There is also a PowerPoint showing all of the positivity questions. I have used these worksheets as Early Morning Starters, as starters for PSHCE lessons or as a talking activity. The worksheets encourage children to think positively. These worksheets are aimed at Key Stage 1 children however could also be used by Key Stage 2 children too to encourage positivity.

Accepting Challenges PowerPoint and worksheets A PowerPoint presentation about challenges. The presentation explains that every challenge comes with a reward and then gives some examples of these rewards. The presentation also talks about how we might feel when faced with a challenge and how we feel when we achieve a challenge. There are opportunities throughout the presentation for the children to discuss their own ideas about challenges. This presentation could be used as an assembly or during a PSHCE lesson. There are also 3 worksheets for children to complete as a follow up to an assembly or during a PSHCE lesson. The worksheets cover thinking about what they could say to themselves when facing a challenge, thinking about how they will feel when they achieve a challenge and breaking a challenge into small chunks.
