Plural or Possessive Activity Cards
Help your pupils to understand the difference between plural and possessive nouns with these fantastic activity cards.
Included are 36 task cards (four per page), clear instructions and an answer reference sheet. Simply print out the cards, laminate, cut up and they are ready to use.
Pupils read the sentence on the card and look at the word in red within the sentence. They decide whether the word is a plural or a possessive noun, needing an apostrophe.
Pupils use a dry wipe marker to circle the correct red word at the bottom of the card that fits correctly within the sentence.
Pupils (or an adult) can check their answers using the answer reference included.

A fun fractions game to reinforce the concept of fractions of shape. Students must find the matching fraction in numbers and the fraction represented as a shape.
In pairs or small groups students deal the cards, face down, equally between themselves. The first player places a card, face up, to begin a pile. The next player places their card, face up, on the pile. Continue until a shape and a numeral card representing the same fraction are placed on top of one another. The student who shouts ‘Snap!’ first keeps that pile. Continue until one player has won all the cards.

This is a simple and fun memory card game which reinforces the concept of decimal numbers using clear visuals.
There are 24 cards altogether of 12 matching pairs. Each pair has one card which displays the value in digits (whole number and decimal tenths) and one card which display the value visually through a clear diagram.
Print, laminate and cut out the cards. In pairs, or small group, students lay the cards face down on a table. They then take turns to turn over two cards. If they find the two matching numerical and visual cards of a particular decimal, they may keep the cards and have another go. If not, they must turn the cards back over and the next person has their turn. It is important to remember where the cards are positioned for future turns!
These cards can also be used to play decimal snap or simply as a visual prompt when teaching decimals.
