My name is Christopher Palmer and I am a languages practitioner. I am now in my sixteenth year of teacher and I have a wealth of experience of liaising with the standard EdExcel GCSE French, Cambridge International GCSE French, EdExcel A-Level French, beginner's Mandarin courses and I am starting to become acquainted with IB French. I have published a vast array of resources which span Key Stage 2-5.

This lesson is designed to give a fundamental idea of how the conditional tense is formed and its use. This lesson is specifically geared towards students studying the IGCSE French programme, but it can also be used for the standard GCSE programme and good revision for AS/A2 French.
I tend to use the IGCSE French grammar workbook which is what I am referring to on slide 7, but feel free to make up your own exercises or get them from a different grammar workbook.

This activity contains a large number of activities subjecting to a French Christmas. There is also a story in this activity about a little girl named Yvette and the story starts off in 1985 when she is 8 years old. She got a visit from Santa and an elf. The elf asked her to make a wish and her wish was granted by the magical elf which carried her off into the future 32 years later. Her thoughts of all of this, just only being a dream, had more to be desired for. A very overwhelming story but a happy one.
Students can start off the activities by becoming acquainted with the vocabulary by colouring in the pictures and then searching for more complex vocabulary in the story before reading it. While they are reading the story, there are spaces in the story where learners can write in the missing scenes and then draw them. They can be imaginative and creative as much as they like! After reading the story, learners have a choice of differentiated questions. The choice is up to them, which ever level they feel comfortable with.
This activity is geared towards learners whose native tongue is French and also Key-Stage 4 students who are following the standard curriculum as it contains a wide range of verbs in the perfect tense such as transitive and intransitive verbs and reflexive verbs in the perfect tense. There are also examples of the imperfect tense in the story.
The cost of this activity workbook is ₤5.
Happy teaching and learning and have a great Christmas!

Les vingt jours de l’été powerpoint: Do you feel your students need to revise numbers 1-20, colours, fruit and gender and agreement? Look no further, as this presentation is designed to do so.
The learning of such vocabulary is set in the theme of ‘the twelve days of Christmas’. I have titled it as ‘les vingt jours de l’été’ (The 20 days of summer) as summer is a very popular season for cultivating fruit. As you go through each slide, you sing along each slide to the very same melody, taking the necessary slow singing as you approach every fifth item. The melody changes slightly when you go through the 6th-20th days of summer as they need to have the same melody when the Christmas song sung is sung from the 6th-12th day of Christmas. You will need to change the melody to that when you come to the 6th-20th day of summer. During the first five days of summer at the beginning of the presentation feel free to click on the audio icon to hear me singing the examples and also at the end of the presentation, click on the another audio icon and you will hear me singing the entire song, so that you get the idea of how to sing it.
Also, there are quizzes of different levels and a follow-up story with more differentiated quizzes to follow. This package is designed for Key Stage 1 primary French (native French nationals/ gifted and talented students) and Key Stage 2 primary French (learners of a weaker ability)
This package revises the following items:

I have designed this puzzle where students will have the opportunity to exercise the use of 'venir de' followed by an infinitive by spotting the 10 differences in picture 2. This would be ideal as a starter after having taught its concept in the previous lesson and this is geared towards students who are studying IGCSE French, A-Level French and adults who are studying French as a foreign language. There is a list of vocabulary available at the bottom of the puzzle to assist unfamiliar vocabulary.
For the stronger students / gifted and talented: Try to encourage them to point out the differences using a reflexive verb as the infinitive.
Students are more than welcome to come up with alternative answers to the answers I have displayed on the subsequent slide.
This presentation outlines and depicts as to how the construction 'venir de faire quelque chose' is formed and used in which context. Go through the slides of each new item and get the students to repeat previously learnt items. This concept is geared towards students who are doing IGCSE French and A-Level French.
