Here is a puzzle which has strong links with the GCSE/IGCSE French curriculum and it focuses on vocabulary and grammar at the train station. There are twenty differences to find and it is ideal to give your students this as a warm-up activity at the beginning of the lesson, recapping on previously learnt vocabulary or if they are learning vocabulary for the first time, try and get them to distinguish what some of the vocabulary means without having to use a dictionary. The answers are displayed on the slides which follow. The cost of this resource is 3 pounds. Happy teaching and learning!

Key Stage 3 French: Questions using 'est-ce que' and question words
KRIS240680KRIS240680

Key Stage 3 French: Questions using 'est-ce que' and question words

(0)
This resource explicitly looks at how to form questions using ‘est-ce que’ and how to incorporate question words into a question in the context of ‘manger’ (to eat). Firstly, do a re-cap of the use of ‘tu’ or ‘vous’ by playing a quiz with the students as forming questions follows on from this. After the quiz, get students to read the each question (you can get them to repeat after you if they have difficulty in pronouncing the words). Ask the class then to raise their hand if they think the correct answer is either ‘A’ or ‘B’. Ask them why they think or what tells them that that is the correct answer. Play the dice game after the presentation and then get the students to then copy down the vocabulary on slide 51 if you wish or you can hand out the poster on the use of ‘est-ce que’ and question words’. They then can complete the follow-up activities tailored to their level. I would recommend the gifted and talented students to complete activity 4 and the much less able students to complete activity 1. Happy teaching and learning!

Preparation time: 30 minutes - 1 hour (introducing new vocabulary and also the transcript and sound files for the listening activity) Lesson length: 1.5 hours - 2 hours Here is the 10th resource for introducing French to adults at beginner’s level! I have compiled this resource using an adult approach who are learning French for the very first time. This activity focuses on the time around the clock in between intervals, i.e. seventeen minutes past four, twenty-three minutes to three, etc. It also incorporates the verbs ‘partir’ and ‘etre’ in the present tense, forming questions using ‘est-ce que’, alongside the distinction between ‘a quelle heure’ and ‘quand’. Several places in France are also introduced. This resource also incorporates all the four keys skills such as reading, listening, speaking and writing. Accompanied with this resource is the worksheet, the transcript and the sound files for the listening assignment. I also have a new bundle created which includes all the first ten installments at a discounted price! Happy teaching and learning!
