Booklet for Y7 students to accompany Mira 1 text book. Includes need-to-know grammar, classroom instructions in target language, core vocabulary as well as vocabulary from each chapter of text book. Booklet also includes assessment tracker and list of useful websites. Really useful for use in lessons, to help students with home learning and as revision aid for tests/vocabulary tests.

Students who opted for GCSE Spanish were set attached list of vocabulary to learn over Summer holidays to “bridge the gap” between KS3 and KS4 Spanish. Students were then tested first week back in September. Really encourages all students to get off to the best possible start to their Y9/Y10 Spanish studies. Test and answer sheet attached.

A double-sided writing mat which encourages students to include a wide range of connectives, opinion phrases, intensifiers, infinitive constructions etc. in their written or oral work. Sheet also includes easy-to-use complex structures and ‘Grade 9’ features such as idioms and subjunctive to enable high ability students to access top marks for linguistic knowledge/range of language.

I've put together a revision calendar to encourage my Y11 class to get them revising things that they may well have long forgotten! It would be really easy to adapt for other months, other languages, or even other subjects so please feel free to use or abuse :)

This resource allows KS3 students to practise describing a photo or picture in French in more detail, similar to what will be required at GCSE level. I have also used it with Y9 students to get them started, as some feel that they are limited to simply describing what they see, and can forget to 'think outside the box'. Students really enjoyed taking it in turns to describe / draw pictures during pair exercise and 'vindictive' is always a popular game!

I have them printed out double-sided and laminated and usually put one or two on each group table so that pupils can discreetly use it for support, or use it to give them ideas of what to include in their own work eg. time phrases / different opinion phrases. One side includes basics such as colours / days of the week / numbers, the other side has time phrases / connectives / useful verbs in range of tenses / intensifiers etc.
