GERMAN VERBS CARDS & RECALL WORKBOOK #1

(2)
GCSE GERMAN VERBS KS4 GERMAN VERBS 99 KS3 GERMAN VERBS CARDS WITH MATCHING ENGLISH CARDS AND WRITTEN RECALL WORKBOOK a successful alternative to more traditional vocabulary drilling activities. Files are non-editable in a zipped format. The resource is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. German vocabulary practice and revision activities really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can learn independently, developing, embedding, reinforcing and refreshing their German verbs vocabulary in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way. Together with the accompanying recall and write activities, there is a multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and spelling. It doesn’t matter if any of the verbs don’t feature in your medium or even longer-term learning plan: this means that the activities are equally about practicing current target language as about engaging with new language. This set features 99 high-frequency German verbs with matching English verbs cards. There is an alphabetical German-English verb list, indicating where a verb is irregular, separable, modal and conjugated with sein. There are three recall and write challenges which provide students with focused opportunity to embed the verbs into their longer-term memory. = Challenge 1 requires students to write the equivalent English verb from a German prompt. The German verbs are in alphabetical order. = Challenge 2 moves on a little from here, with the verbs in random, rather than alphabetical order. = Challenge 3 requires students to write the German verb from an English prompt. This helps students familiarise themselves with, and really embed, the range of verbs in the set, and also get used to writing and spelling in German. Encourage students to complete the Meine Notizen / Neue Verben page regularly, reflecting not only on the verbs vocabulary they feel confident about, but also how they think their skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing in German are developing - and equally importantly, what they can reasonably do to keep improving. Noting any new verbs is a great way of developing a really comprehensive German verbs vocabulary bank, which will enrich their speaking and creative writing. Laminate the game cards if you can, as they are far more learner-friendly, and the cards will remain in excellent conditional for years. KS3 FRENCH SPEAKING ACTIVITIES ADVANCED BEGINNER FRENCH SPEAKING ACTIVITIES FRENCH SPEAKING PRACTICE IDEAL FOR FRENCH TRANSLATION PRACTICE TOO The resource consists of two non-editable files in a zipped format. It is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. These French paired speaking prompt cards an ideal way to promote speaking in French class. Working in small groups or pairs helps students feel confident about talking in French without feeling ‘on the spot’, or worried about not getting their pronunciation and accent right in front of the whole class. The prompt cards offer structured talk opportunities, and focus on vocabulary, structures and general knowledge that students are generally engaging with from advanced beginner French level. Language addresses a broad range of grammar points, such as question formats, gender agreement and articles. Some questions and answers include modal verbs and subordinating conjunctions, which makes conversational French more realistic and communicative. Students will not have engaged with all the language used at this stage, and this makes the activity equally about engaging implicitly with new language, as well as practising and reinforcing the current language focus. Language varies from basic beginner French such as Quel âge as-tu ? J’ai quinze ans to more involved and complex exchanges such as La mode éthique, c’est trop cher selon toi ? The set also provides students with an opportunity to develop their translation skills in French from the beginning of their learning, which is very important: they see that ‘word for word’ is rarely, if ever, accurate, and that a correct translation means correctly conveying the meaning of a clause or sentence, rather than every word that appears in it. The set comprises the following non-editable files in a zipped format: = 100 cards, 50 questions and 50 suggested responses in French (10 cards per page, 10 pages) Laminate these if possible, as they’re more learner-friendly, and they will remain in excellent condition for years, so they can used many times = 6-page booklet / answer key containing all the dialogue questions and answers in both French and English = 6-page translation activity workbook, translating from French into English notes and recording sheets - if students don’t have class workbooks, they can use the sheets to make notes as they create new questions and responses, and write their completed versions out in full. These sheets are also useful for more formal assessment purposes if required. Have a browse in my store for more French resources, including special offer bundles and freebies. GCSE FRENCH SPEAKING SKILLS KS4 FRENCH SPEAKING SKILLS KS3 FRENCH 300 FRENCH PAIRED SPEAKING PRACTICE CARDS 3 SETS OF 100 CARDS @ £3.25 EACH IN THE BUNDLE The bundle consists of non-editable files in a zipped format. Please read the Terms of Use carefully. The bundle is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. These French Speaking Practice cards are perfect for developing speaking skills and for engaging with a range of language and concepts within a single activity - there are 300 question and answer cards and three reference books aimed at advanced beginner to intermediate French learners, with a focus on beginning and general conversation, some cultural knowledge and using French reflexive verbs in the present tense. There are 48 reflexive verbs featured in the Q & A activities in Set 3, and an alphabetical French-English verb list in the reference book. The cards are also great for multi-skill language learning - they give students structured talk opportunities and definitely get them listening, reading and writing. As their confidence and competence develop, my students begin to rely less on the prompts, and are able to produce language really creatively. The cards ideal for independent learning, and perfect for pair and small-group work. There are also a lot of games you can play with the cards, and I’ve described a range of those that work really well for us. Laminate the cards if you can - it’s definitely worth the extra prep time, as they’re more learner-friendly, and they last for absolutely years. The reference books include all the questions and answers written out in French. Students find these very useful learning support resources and they’re also handy whole-group pronunciation practice and reading-out loud resources, as well as translation practice. My students use them to guide their own creative use of language, as a kind of writing frame, as they create new questions and answers for each other. We use the***Ideas, Notes and Next Steps template*** to reflect on learning, and to think about what we might reasonably do to progress in our learning - it’s really useful to guide and inform whole-group discussion. My students also note new verbs and vocab here too, which really helps them create a whole range of new sentences, questions and answers. The question and answer card writing templates give students the opportunity to apply their French very practically, as they create both questions and answers for each other. This is a great team activity too.
