This book is so important now! This beautifully illustrated and thoughtfully structured power point lesson explores all the key events of this chapter through structured tasks and academic writing. I have taught this novel many times and thoroughly enjoy seeing the student’s eyes open to the bigger world around them. I have used this resource successfully in my own class to lead my teaching, as a homework assignment and also as a tool of revision – all have worked well. This power point lesson contains a starter activity, summary and analysis questions, an academic writing task, an extension task and a plenary.

This powerpoint presentation is beautifully illustrated and engaging for the students. Each powerpoint is constructed with a starter, key words and phrases, a starter activity, summary and analysis questions, an extension task and a PEE writing task, plus a plenary. This presentation focuses clearly on one scene and touches upon the prominent theme within the starter activity. It is aimed clearly at KS4, but can so easily be adapted up or down the key stages. All of my resources have been run in class and are revised and updated on a yearly basis.

Duffy’s ‘The Map Woman’ is a dynamic text that explores the physical and emotional transitions between ‘girl’ and ‘woman’, and the bias of gender expectations. It remains a significant text for our post-modern society. I have taught this text a number of times, and I have used this specific resource (revised in 2021), to lead my teaching in class, as a distance learning material (Google Meet/Skype lessons), as a homework assignment and even as a tool for revision – all have worked well for the students. This dynamically illustrated 36 slide PowerPoint lesson contains, a starter activity, a text overview, exploration tasks connected to content, summary and analysis questions connected to language and its devices, questions pertaining to structure and theme, an academic writing task, an extension task, a homework assignment and a plenary. No further work is required from the teacher. This is a complete resource. Enjoy!

Tennessee Williams’ classic play explores the toxic side of masculinity, its disregard and abusive nature. In the post-modern world of the ‘Me Too’ movement and the downfall of Jeffrey Epstein, it remains an essential text to study. I have taught this text many times over the last 20 years and I have used this specific resource (revised): to lead my teaching in class, as a distance learning material (Google Meet/Skype Lessons), as a homework assignment and also as a tool of revision – All have worked well for the students. This dynamically presented 21 slide PowerPoint lesson contains, a starter activity, summary and analysis questions, an academic writing task, a theme-tracking exercise, an extension task, a homework assignment and of course, a plenary. This is a complete resource with no further work required from the teacher. Enjoy!

‘Never Let Me Go’ by Kazuo Ishiguro explores an enduring love that battles a hopeless situation. Using the canvas of cloning, Ishiguro explores the moral, spiritual and legal debates connected to the creation of life. In our fractured post-modern world, this text remains both significant and essential. I have taught this text a number of times in recent years, and have used this specific resource to lead my teaching in class, as a distance learning resource (SKYPE Lessons), as a homework assignment and even as a tool of revision – all have worked well for the students. This dynamically illustrated PowerPoint lesson (23 slides) works as bridge into the text, by focusing on the follow three areas. (i) The life of the author and how this shaped the content of his literary works. (ii) The leading themes present within the text. (iii) The characterisation of the leading personalities within the same text. This is a complete resource with no further work required from the teacher. Enjoy!
