These two lessons focuse on Fats needed in our diet and is suitable for GCSE students studying food. These complete whole lesson can be delivered by a specialist or non-specialist as part of a cover lesson (as all tasks are clear with printables and answers). This resource is a great learning aid the revision period. **Exam Powerpoint: ** What to expect in the exam Introducing command words - lists the command words found in the food exams- anything from identify to discuss and provides clear definitions. Example food questions (for section B) and answers focusing on 3 different command words. Once the teacher has shown the model answer, they then have the opportunity to refer to the mark scheme (already included in PPT) for that specific answer. If they then “right click” the answer will appear, but this time highlighting the specific content which meets the mark scheme. It was primarily designed as a cover lesson for a year 9 class, however has been successfully received by KS4 classes as a cover lesson and as part The double sided worksheet first tasks students to read the factsheet, as a class, this covers: What bacteria needs to grow, How bacteria can be slowed down, How the growth of bacteria can be prevented and what the causes of cross-contamination. The factsheet is a great revision tool as well as helping with the second task. Students are then asked to create a comic strip explaining how bacteria can be controlled to keep foods safe. This was benificial for both year 9, 10 and 11 classes; as they were able to recall the content and use the comic strip as a creative revision tool. Learning whilst being enjoyable! Design Technology Remote Learning and Cover Lesson focusing on Manufactured Boards; suitable for KS3 and KS4 students. They will have the opportunity to watch a video for each, understand it’s key characteristics and common products they are used for. Students will develop this new/recalled knowledge by completing a worksheet (included). Students are then presented with a mock question to answer. They can then self mark using an exemplary answer, correct their own answer and then write a new exam question with answer; reflecting on the content learned in the lesson.
