I am an ex-primary head teacher and English, Maths and History specialist. I've mostly worked in KS2, often in Year 6. A complete week’s worth of lessons each including a daily plan, a starter, introduction, differentiated tasks and plenaries, as well as a link to a youtube video which can be used to provide distance learning as and when required. The lessons cover the following learning objectives. Starters: • To recognise the value of each coin. • To find one more or one less of a given set of coins. • To find ten more or ten less of a given set of coins. • To add and subtract numbers to 20 including missing number problems. Main Teaching • To sequence events in chronological order using language such as: morning, afternoon and evening • To sequence events in chronological order using ordinal openers i.e. first, secondly, next, then, after, finally • To compare, describe and solve practical problems for time (quicker, slower, earlier, later). • To measure and begin to record time • To recognise and use language relating to dates, including days of the week, weeks, months and years

A differentiated starter, introduction for both ActivInspire and Smartboard, and differentiated activity with an extension activity for use in Continuous Provision and AFL / Next Steps plenary class activity supported by a youtube video for Distance learning. Learning Objective: To represent numbers beyond 20 This lesson consists of: A differentiated starter – Exchange Up. A counting game for groups of children to take in turns counting up to a target number of 20 (LA), 30 (MA) 40 (HA) using base 10 equipment and a dice. A second starter finding the value of numbers represented by tens and ones. An Interactive Whiteboard teaching introduction for both Notebook and ActivInspire flipchart building on the skill of one to one correspondence before extending this to teach grouping into tens and ones using Base 10 equipment and linked to recognising the number of tens and ones that are used to represent a number. A youtube video link for distance learning introducing the starter, main part of the lesson and the AFL / Next Steps plenary. A differentiated series of tasks requiring the use of grouping and Base 10 equipment to identify the value of objects on a number track and represent the number as Tens and Ones. A final AFL / Next Steps task, where children apply their knowledge of tens and ones by showing the value of given numbers using Base ten equipment.

This lesson consists of: A differentiated starter – where children solve a series of addition sums using a range of mathematical equipment. An Interactive Whiteboard teaching introduction for both Notebook and ActivInspire flipchart demonstrating how balance scales can be used to record the weight of five different objects using 10g weights as standard measures. A youtube video link for distance learning introducing the starter, the main part of the lesson and the AFL / Next Steps plenary. A series of tasks requiring the use of balance scales to compare the weight of a range of common classroom objects using standard measures. A recording sheet to record the weight of five objects and sort these from lightest to heaviest. A final AFL / Next Steps task, where children identify objects that have particular weights and then work out how much 2, 5 and 10 sets would weigh.
