I am a French native speaker, really enthusiastic about teaching my language and sharing resources. I spent all my childhood in France. I moved to England eight years ago to do a Masters in Education and Modern Foreign Languages. I then did my teacher training (PGCE) in Modern Foreign languages, at King's College, in London and was in charge of the French department in a London private school for many years. I now teach and work as a Housemistress in a British school, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

ALL the posters and displays you can find in my French classroom:
- The weather displays (I put them next to the window and everyday a pupil changes the card depending on the weather outside - they love being in charge of the weather card - you can do a monthly rota)
- The Monster verbs (I have a whole wall next to my board covered with those verbs - I print them in A3 format so everybody can see them in the class - I find it so useful to have them all there - students find them very useful and check them constantly.
- The behaviour displays (two displays that I put each side of my whiteboard - I put positive ticks next to students name on the angel side of the board to reward good work and if names are written under the negative smiley, students know they are close to be given a sanction)
- The instruction displays (I have them all around my whiteboard and interactive board - ask students to use the target language to ask to go out of the class or get a dictionary - they find it very fun to ask in French)
- The idiom displays (I have a reading corner with French books in my classroom and these idioms are all over one of the walls - it is great for GCSE and A-level students to have interesting phrases to include in their writing and speaking)
- The opinion and intensifier displays (great for GCSE and A-level students to improve their writing and vary the opinions they use)
- The question displays (outside my classroom, I have French questions in speech bubbles as well as common phrases used in France - I print them on A3 paper too - you can add pictures of your students linked to the speech bubbles which looks fun and interactive)

Two versions of the book in the imperfect tense to suit your class (quand j'étais petit et quand j'étais petite).
You can also check the Youtube video I made on the same topic:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D66r8guvfDc
Some ideas how to use it in class:
- Simply read the story to French beginners
- Work out the meaning of the book in pairs with the pictures as an aid
- Show them the first two pages and identify patterns (which tense is it/what are the endings of the imperfect)
- Only show the picture and ask the students to write a sentence about it in the imperfect tense following the same pattern (then show them the possible answer)
- Ask them to create a similar book in the IT suite or for homework
Please do not hesitate to share more ideas in the messages below! Thank you very much!
