In this lesson, students will examine the challenges that Edward VI faced as a young Tudor king as well as the expectations he had as a new Tudor monarch. The outcome of the lesson will be students writing a letter to advise Edward VI about these challenges. Students will learn about the events before such as the Battle of Stamford Bridge which led to the Battle of Hastings by creating their own storyboard/cartoon strip. Starter: Students infer information about the events from an infographic Background: Students led through the various events with a series of interactive and entertaining information slides. **Task: **Students are given a sheet to place the events they have just heard about in the correct chronological order. Task 2: Students are given a success criteria to help them plan and then create their own storyboard/cartoon strip about the events which led to the Battle of Hastings. Assessment: Once completed, students self or peer assess their work based on the criteria.
