<strong>Content and description</strong>
<strong>1. My 2-D Shape Mat in color and b/w. (x2)</strong>
This 2-D shape mat contains all the shapes the children will be using in their activities. It is also a visual reminder for them when doing shape work. The mat is also needed for the 2-D quiz. There are 8 questions to be answered.
<strong>2. Differentiated 2-D Shapes Search and Color (x5).</strong>
Children color the shapes using the color key. Before they start on this worksheet, you could review the shapes and the colors that are needed to complete the worksheet.
<strong>3. 2-D Shapes Search + Answer Sheet.</strong>
There are five questions on this worksheet. Children refer to the shapes below which shows a variety of 2-D shapes in two circles. The questions asked, e.g., are ‘How many [triangles] do you see?
<strong>4. 2-D Shape Pictures (x7).</strong>
I’ve made seven 2-D shape pictures with color key for the children to complete with the correct colors according to the color key.

Counting within 10, children read how many shapes to trace round and color in.
<strong>7. Match shape to correct number of sides worksheet (x2) with Answers.</strong>
This worksheet will help to consolidate children’s knowledge on the number of sides 2-D shapes have. There are 4 shapes on each worksheet. Children draw a line from a 2-D shape to the correct number of sides that shape has.
<strong>8. 2-D Shape Quiz/Activity – 8 Questions + Answer Sheet.</strong>
This is a quiz activity and the last task is to trace around four 2-D shapes and label them. There are 8 questions and children can use their 2-D Shape Mat to work out the answers.
<strong>9. My 2-D Shape Picture for children</strong>
In this last activity, children are given the opportunity to practice their shape knowledge and create 2-D pictures. They make 2-D pictures of a car, flower and robot. Then they think of their own 2-D picture and write the shapes they used.

Students say the 3D shape aloud and then identify the 2D shape that is shaded on the solid.
Next, students draw/sketch the 2D shape. They can practice using a ruler to obtain equal straight lines for the square and drawing straight in general.
<strong>2D and 3D Jigsaw Puzzle Match</strong>
These are cut and paste puzzle activities.
Students cut out one piece of the puzzle with a picture of a shape and glue it onto their worksheets or in workbooks. They then read the description for that shape which is written on another piece of puzzle. They cut out and glue the correct description opposite the first jigsaw piece so that the jigsaw pieces fit together.

Ten sets of Shape Cards – Set 1 to Set 12
Labels for shapes
Shapes used: square, circle, triangle, rectangle, oval, pentagon, diamond/rhombus, heart, star, crescent and trapezium shape.
The mats are whole page landscape and should be printed onto card and laminated.
Enlarge to A3 and get children to work in pairs to match the shapes.
Each mat displays various shapes in different positions, size and colour. For each mat there are sets of shapes which should be printed onto card or good quality paper and then cut out ready for the children to start the matching activity.
The cut out shapes are placed on top of the correct shapes shown on the Shape Mat. The shape, colour and size should match.
More than one shape card can be placed on top of a shape. This is an opportunity for children to count the number of matching shapes, describe colours and shapes.
Included are shape labels - you may want to use these to revise shapes with the children.
I keep the numbered sets together so that they do not get mixed up, i.e. Set 1 Shape Cards stored away with Shape Match Mat 1; Set 2 Shape Cards kept with Shape Match Mat 2 etc.

This resource relates to counting 2D shapes of different colours.
It is a 3-in-1 product that covers the early learning of colours, shapes and basic counting up to 10.
Each page contains the same shapes but they are different colours.
An ideal resource for children to practise colour recognition, 2D shapes and counting.
Ideally, each sheet should be laminated and used with a dry-erase pen.
Children count the shapes that are the same colour and then write the number in the space provided.
Shapes used are: circle, square, triangle, rectangle, diamond/rhombus and pentagon.
<strong>Extension opportunity:</strong> Some children can count beyond 10 and even 20 in Reception and Year 1, so once they have written down the number of shapes that are the same colours, they can then add the two numbers together to find the total number of, e.g., squares.

Student describe pairs of clouds to show how they are different from each other, and then draw/sketch a picture. They can sketch from memory or look up images of these clouds in non-fiction books or on the computer.
For example, on the worksheet, students will see that the ‘Cirrus and Nimbostratus’ clouds are sub-headings; the ‘Cumulus and Cumulonimbus’ are sub-headings and the ‘Cirrocumulus and Altocumulus’ are sub-headings.
Once the worksheet is completed, students can see the difference between the sets of clouds.

The student that has card number 7 answers the question.
If you would like other students to answer the same question, then just say e.g. ‘I want whoever has card number, e.g. 23, to answer the same question.’
Depending on timing, you can decide on how many questions to select from the pack.

If your pupils are still struggling with the concept of partitioning/splitting numbers into tens and ones and adding and subtracting mentally, then this resource provides hands-on activity.
Once the pupils have grasped the basic, they can then match the tens and ones buttons to base 10 blocks.
Content:
Worksheets (x4) - Understanding numbers. Pupils count the buttons and draw around 10 and count on the ones. They write the number and partition it following the example on the worksheet. E.g Count 12, circle 10 buttons - write 10 and 2 and show that it is 1 ten and 2 ones.
Addition of two-digit numbers worksheets (x5) : The first page shows pupils an example (add the tens and then the ones) and then they complete the two sums. The remaining 4 worksheets require the pupils to cut and paste tens and ones to match the equations and then solve it.

Differentiated Activity 1 - Lower Ability children cut out and sequence three pictures and write a simple sentence below each picture called St. Patrick and the Serpent.
Middle Ability - Cut out sentences and glue below the correct pictures to tell the story of St Patrick and the Serpent .
High Ability - Retell legend of St Patrick and the Serpent. First they draft and then write out neatly.
Early finishers: Draw or find a picture of a person whom they regard as a legend and write why.
