Simple Partial Fractions Puzzle

Simple Partial Fractions Puzzle

(1)
Two linear factors in denominator only. Be alert to students 'cheating' at this puzzle by simply matching the brackets in the denominator with those in the solutions. (One strategy I've used is to change one number in one solution so there is a deliberate mistake, and say that the students have to find this as well as complete the puzzle. But simply insisting they write down their working out works as well!)

Algebraic and graphical binomial expansion activity

(0)
This activity looks at binomial expansions from both an algebraic and a graphical perspective. The aim of this activity is to practise a lot of the skills involved in the topic of binomial expansions, where n is not a natural number, in what is perhaps a more interesting context than the standard binomial questions.
