2 week Performance Poetry planning perfect for year 3/4. Includes build up to understanding and performing poetry and then moving onto writing their own poem using a frame based on a popular poem style. My year group responded very well to this planning and thoroughly enjoyed producing their own poems and performing them to one another. They also loved playing critics and had fun evaluating their own performances as well as those of others. Planning is in the form of a flipchart and includes other necessary resources. Marking ladders for work to be completed are included as well as a modelled text which can be used to model to the children how their poems might sound.

Lower Key Stage 2 guided reading planning teaching children the skill of making connections when reading including text to text connections, text to self connections and text to world connections. The flipchart teaches the children how to make connections using a range of different activities.
