It starts with a recap of key New Right ideas, followed by the cycle of deprivation and Charles Murray’s study into the Underclass. The lesson then looks at globalisation as a cause of poverty, finishing with a 12 mark question.

A lesson that is part of an introductory unit to sociology. Ideal for new GCSE candidates, but also suitable to use for revision as a refresher. AQA New Specification 9-1- Lesson 4- Looking at the first education act, right the way through to the Butler Act and the Tripartite System

New Spec 9-1 The lesson concentrates on looking at Rapoport & Rapoport (1982) as Key Thinkers. There is a proforma and students evaluate the study. Also covered looking at why there is family diversity. Please leave a review.

Lesson 2 on AQA 9-1 Specification Crime & Deviance This lesson looks at social order and social rules. It briefly touches on the main sociological theories but the lesson centres on the agencies of social control. Differentiated exam questions at the end Please leave a review

This is a mini research unit that will be taught ahead of the units (after the introduction unit). It should take approximately 11 lessons to go through the basic research methods. I am aware this is no longer necessary to be taught as an explicit unit, however we feel they need the basic knowledge to be able to answer the questions in the different units. Lesson 13 looks at power distribution in the family. There are 2 video clips that look at domestic violence in the UK. Students then complete some comprehension questions.

Assessment for the 9-1 AQA Education unit. Making use of the AQA student responses online. I have added student and teacher feedback to the bottom of the assessment using the mark scheme.

A free lesson as this is a short lesson on Questionnaires. The remainder of the lesson is to prepare students for their mid-unit assessment (next lessons in the bundle.) Not suitable for everyone, but necessary for how our unit is planned.
