The Bible (8/14)

(0)
A new scheme of work aimed at KS3 Y7. This unit of work will be a Chronology of Monotheism. Starting with Genesis, moving through Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Each religion will cover Key religious figures, information on their holy book and a rite of passage/religious practice. The aim of this unit is to compliment our GCSE curriculum in which we study Christianity and Islam. The learning journey for the unit is included. The Bible: An introduction to the Bible, looking at the Old and New Testament in a video and gap filler. Students then look at the different ways the Bible can be interpretted- liberal and literal. They consider other sources of authority that may provide more guidance in the modern day (prayer, visiting church, listening to their conscience). Students then pretend to ring into This Morning to answer a phone in question regarding if the Bible is out of date.

Juno- Teen Pregnancy

Juno- Teen Pregnancy

(0)
We had time at the end of term to show the full film of Juno. We used this to teach students about pregnancy, but about the varying choices if a student was to find themselves, or their partner, pregnant. Students watch the film, discuss and create a leaflet. This was used as a wind down project towards the end of the Summer Term. Leave a review, email misskwaddington@outlook.com and you can choose any single lesson to be emailed back to you for free!

KS3- Suffering

(0)
A bundle of KS3 lessons that look at the nature of suffering, why we suffer and studying those who help people who are suffering. Excellent lessons and worksheets. Bundled together for a low price because they still use “level” language. Will take a matter of minutes to change this language. Leave a review, email misskwaddington@outlook.com and you can choose any single lesson to be emailed back to you for free!
Introduction to Sociology- An Introduction to Marxism (5/8)

Introduction to Sociology- An Introduction to Marxism (5/8)

(0)
A lesson that introduces the key perspective of Marxism. This lesson is part 1 of 2 parts. The idea is for students to imagine themselves as workers, then have the standard deductions taken from their wage. The idea of this task is to get students to see society as Marx did (my students tend to struggle the most with Marxism because they aren’t workers or have a clue about the cost of living.) The lesson then moves on to introduce Marx and Capitalism and Bourgeoise. The next lesson will look at the Proletariat and Marx theory of the need for a revolution. Students will then assess the strengths and weaknesses of this theory. This is a lesson suitable for either an introduction in sociology or as a refresher/revision for students before their GCSE. Suitable for non-specialists or a cover lesson. Leave feedback, email misskwaddington@outlook.com and recieve any single lesson of your choice for free.
Introduction to Sociology- Consolidation Lesson (8/8)

Introduction to Sociology- Consolidation Lesson (8/8)

(0)
Suitable as an introductory lesson, or a revision lesson before the exams. A cheap lesson as there wasn’t a great deal of teacher input. Students complete their quiz, do keyword bingo and then answer a series of exam questions. I like students to take a question at a time, mark a peers answer and then I live write in the powerpoint as the class create the perfect answer-including literacy! I then print the slides after the lesson and they stick these into their books.

Planned for AQA new spec (9-1) but suitable for most exam boards. This is a knowledge organiser that contains key thinkers, and a summary of the unit. It is a good revision tool, but students will obviously need to go into further detail on each of the key thinkers etc. Please leave a review if you download.

A new unit of work using the PSHE association mapping structure for the new 2020 Relationship, Sex and Health Education area. This unit is aimed at Year 7. But suitable for any KS3 group. Lesson 3 looks at grooming and child sexual exploitation and is age appropriate for a KS3 or KS4 class. The lesson uses 3 video clips that are embedded into the slides, if you have an issue playing these back (for some reason some of my previous lessons had small issues) please don’t leave me a low review because of this issue, leave me a fair review with your email address and i will send you the videos straught away. Fingers crossed you should find the videos play well (I had IT help me :) ) The lesson also has a disclaimer for students to think sensibly about their contributions.

Research Methods (9-1) Collect & analyse Data (3/11)

This is a mini research unit that will be taught ahead of the units (after the introduction unit). It should take approximately 11 lessons to go through the basic research methods. I am aware this is no longer necessary to be taught as an explicit unit, however we feel they need the basic knowledge to be able to answer the questions in the different units. The homework task refers to a knowledge organiser than can be bought in my store. However, the homework task can be completed without it. It’s just our departmental push on the use of them throughout the unit. Lesson 3- Looking at Primary, Secondary, Qual & Quan data. Considering how studies are peer reviewed and evaluated. Exam practice with model answer. Homework Task also prepared.
