This simple resource will allow you to show your class how you think they are performing. The slides provide a range of emoticons that can be displayed on the white board.
Perhaps start the lesson with the neutral face (slide 6), and as the lesson progresses, change the slide to either show positive participation (move up through the slides), or areas for improvement (move down through the slides)
Children respond positively to visual stimuli, and this could be an effective way of encouraging self reflection. You could even keep a lesson by lesson tally using the scoring system on each slide so that they are encouraged to beat their last efforts.
