I made this PowerPoint based on an old pronunciation guide I found written by the BBC. It’s a guide to elements of pronunciation in the English Language that are the subject of debate. It was used by the BBC to teach newsreaders how to speak! It is very informative and will raise some laughs in the classroom. My students loved it.

A revision PowerPoint looking at the paper 1 reading exam. This lesson is based on an extract from the Alan Partridge novel, Nomad. I have included the PowerPoint, model answers, examiner tips and the extract. This is for grade 4-7 learners and looks at the following question: ‘The writer has created an enjoyable short story with a satisfying ending.’ How far do you agree with this statement?
