Tarsia Puzzle: NORTH AMERICAN COUNTRIES AND CAPITALS
In this activity, students will practice matching the names of 24 North American countries with their capitals, as they piece together the pieces of each tarsia puzzle. Students will match their answers with a separate puzzle piece until all the countries have ‘found’ their capital and the puzzle is completed.
These GEOGRAPHY TARSIA PUZZLES are a FUN way for students to practice their multiplication facts that doesn’t involve a worksheet. The puzzle activity works well for individuals, as well as small groups. Alternatively, you can set up stations around the room, and have students or groups rotate to each station for a new math puzzle/game.
This resource includes:
1 tarsia puzzle with 24 countries
1 answer key
Teacher directions
List of Countries Included:
Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago, United States (USA) and Puerto Rico (USA).

Print the puzzles on large sized paper, if you want the pieces to be extra large.
Laminate the puzzle pieces BEFORE your students cut them out. It will allow you to use them for years to come.
Code the backside of each puzzle piece, so it is easier to find which plastic bag they belong to in case they get mixed up with other pieces.
