Intended for upper KS2 or lower KS3, these resources offer a differentiated written outcome to a topic which includes dates and festivals, although they could be used as a stand-alone task with some pre-teaching. The Powerpoint presentation takes pupils through a staged preparation for the written assessment task, including differentiated challenges. The assessment task is provided in 3 differentiated versions, each with a specific outcome for self-assessment or teacher-assessment purposes. Developing sentence building and writing from memory, the materials could be used in conjunction with my other resources on festivals and dates to create a unit of work. A pack of resources providing all you need for a series of lessons focusing on applying knowledge of the gender of French-speaking countries to using them in sentences. Includes carefully structured Powerpoint presentations (with notes to slides for further clarification and extension opportunities) and supporting worksheets and activities, many with differentiation. A pupil support mat is also included. Resources are provided in a numbered sequence for easy delivery. The unit leads to speaking and writing outcomes which give pupils the opportunity to demonstrate grammatical understanding and build longer sentences. All resources are provided as adaptable word documents and powerpoints to enable you to substitute your own choice of countries if you wish.

A powerpoint presentation and set of resources to introduce some of the French-speaking countries, adaptable to enable substitution of alternative countries and able to be used both as a stand-alone context and as a spring-board for application of grammar knowledge (gender) in a number of contexts e.g. geographical location, climate, transport, personal identification etc. Th powerpoint offers a carefully structured lesson or set of lessons (depending on how much use the teacher wants to make of the resources and cross-curricular opportunities), which will enable pupils to understand, recognise and read aloud the words for some French-speaking countries, as well as developing dictionary skills to find gender identifiers.
