A quiz that you will be able to complete within a 1h lesson or as a lunch time , with answers and answer sheet.
Round 1 - Guess the scientist in the sceince film
Round 2 - name the science song
Round 3 - who was the scientists and what was the discovery?
Round 4 - where were theses scientists born?
Round 5 - name the discoveries and order them!
Edited - July 2017 and updated
None of the rounds require use of youtube or external sites, as I am aware these are often blocked in some schools.
A 3 part foldable that gives students opportunity to label the parts of a hydroelectrical dam and understand how water and energy transfer is used to generate electricity.
Included is the foldable to colour, label and cut out and pictures to model the correct way of fitting it together. Students of course have full automony when it comes to the colouring.
Boxes to include key words have been added since photo was taken.
Students can then describe in their exercise books how the dam works and research real life case studies.
A cut and stick 'Earth' that when put together adds a bit of class to a boring drawing in the exercise book. It is quick and easy to put together and can be printed on A5 (so 2 pages to one piece of A4). When it is complete the Earth folds over as do the layers in the these amazing interactive notebook foldable
This resource contains the Earth model to cut out, extra questions, instructions to how to complete the model and a brief research lesson plan.

Match sure your KS3 Science students 'master' all the key ideas they need before they start on their GCSE journey. It will support conversations with students to what they have to do to improve/next steps as well as your report writing and parents evenings.
This PLC is already formatted with the statements/Can do/key idea statements all you have to do is add numbers:
1) can not do yet (red)
2) nearly there (orange)
3) mastered (green)
4) Away/absent for the lessons covering the key idea so need to catch up (grey)
This resources covers all Biology, Chemistry and Physics topics, as well as working scientifically and other key skills (EG: graph drawing, calculations and maths skills, homework quality).
You can also edit/add sections to suit your own teaching needs.
AQA Synergy combined science GCSE ,(8465) required practical and skills PLC:
The Synergy content broken down into 'can do' statements. Teachers can RAG rate student progress to highlight strengths and weaknesses on this already formatted spreadsheet. All you have to do is put a number in and it will change colour automatically, saving you time and effort.
Included is 3x required practical booklet for the biology, physics and chemistry required practical and a general scientific skills PLC tracker.
PLC trackers are included for the synergy required practicals, building blocks, transport over large distances, interactions with the environment, explaining change, building blocks for understanding, interactions, movement, guiding spaceship Earth and key skill areas, Each section has coloured coded outcomes to differentiate biology, chemistry and physics.
This resource should help you track student progress until they master each element of the Biology trilogy specification. The tracker will support written reports, inform students of the next steps and could even be used at parents evenings to inform parents of progress.
AQA GCSE Physics Content, required practical, skills and calculations PLC:
The new GCSE physics content broken down into 'can do' statements. Teachers can RAG rate student progress to highlight strengths and weaknesses on this already formatted spreadsheet. All you have to do is put a number in and it will change colour automatically, saving you time and effort.
Also include is a required practical tracker, a Physics required practical assessment booklet, a physics calculation recall tracker and a general scientific skills PLC tracker. This resource is much more detailed than the trilogy physics pack due to the addition of space physics, 2 more required practicals and the extra topic areas that are included.
PLC trackers are included for Force (motion), Forces (Interactions), Forces (Levers/Gears), space, waves, energy, circuit electricity, domestic mains electricity, static electricity, energy, magnetism, particle model, atomic model and radiation, key skill areas, calculations
This resource should help you track student progress until they master each element of the Chemistry trilogy specification. The tracker will support written reports, inform students of the next steps and could even be used at parents evenings to inform parents of progress.
20 ideas that range from investigations to one off lessons to making Christmas as scientific as possible.
Ideas include how to brighten up your room/lab with science themed decorations, investigate factors that effect poor old Father Christmas from doing his job. Most ideas are linked to Chemistry and Physics but would be appropriate for any teacher of any specialism to use throughout the keystages.

This foldable comes in 4 parts, all designed and created by TRJ. Learners should be encouraged with describe and explain how energy is lost and can be prevented in the space within the foldable - along with this literacy focus there is also a student worksheet attached with calculation questions - this could easily be completed for a HW.
The design itself is slightly editable so if you are just after the design of the house, it could be used for many different purposes.

The resource contains 10 teacher led demonstrations some of which students can also do, all focussing on the gas pressure laws (Gay-Lussacs, Boyles and Charles) and their relationships.
The powerpoint also includes data students could plot to further understand the relationships.
I have also included the foldable that students can use to further discover the relationships between temperature, volume and pressure. This can be used in conjunction with the powerpoint lesson ideas.
I hope you find it useful especially if you a non specialist or you find yourself teaching this new area of the Physics curriculum.
