AQA Combined Science All Specification Review: Foundation Chemistry Paper 2

If you’ve ever wanted to be able to guarantee that your pupils are reviewing all areas of the course, then this resource should help. The “All Spec Review” (I have a free resource for Foundation Biology Paper 1 that will enable you to see what this pack contains) Before a full paper is completed by your pupils you will likely revise the different chapters within the assessment paper. But how do you check they understand or how do they? This questions pack contains past exam questions that meet every specification point for the tier and paper being reviewed. I have analysed every question from every past paper to collate which question meets which specification points. From this analyse I have put together a question pack that the pupil can work through that is guaranteed to cover every specification point at least once, if not a few times. Using AQA exam timings these booklets contain at least a couple of hours of work. Broken down with revision, or completed open book, this could be many hours of work in class or at home. This resource contains a PowerPoint slide to put up that has the breakdown of question versus spec point. It then has a teacher version with questions, markscheme and examiner report and a pupil version with just questions. At the start of the pack there is a review table for the pupils to keep track of questions and specification points they are strong or weak in. Hope this helps and builds to a full review of everything needing to be covered.

AQA Combined Science Trilogy: 5.4 Chemical Changes Quiz

(0)
Want to quickly and easily review a chapter of the AQA Combined Science Trilogy specification? Want to be able to lead pupils to a targeted revision list to enable them to close their gaps? This revision resource consists of a range of questions across the specific specification points. There are a minimum of two questions per spec code. The specification document has been closely used to guarantee the correct use of terminology and phrasing. This leads to pupils then self-marking after each sub topic. This will consist of them marking and noting the identified spec code in a WWW or EBI list. Once the quiz is completed they will then follow the instructions to create their own personalised review of the full quiz and self-generate their personalised revision list by specification name using the supplied list. This activity is 1-2 lessons depending on the depth of revision time you allow the pupils though these tasks can be class or homework. Lesson plan included.

Want to know what to teach, and when, for your year 7’s and 8’s next academic year? Need to plan out all your topics, assessments and data entry deadlines. Then this should work for you. This document is for a 2 year KS3 course following the AQA specification for 2017-18. It contains an editable week by week calendar, editable to the day to show term times and days of the week. Colour coded to show bank holidays, school development days and closed days for terms that end or start mid-week. Completely changeable to fit your school dates. All 10 chapters have been analysed to weigh their allocated teaching time to match their depth and content. This analysis is on the second tab and analyses content and compares to annual teaching time to allocate a relative number of weeks for each topic. This is then mapped through the year following a physics, chemistry and then biology rotation. At the end of each rotation a week has been placed for revision and full assessment. A full list of all small review dates and data entry dates all mapped in line with this timeline. This is then mapped to 8 classes per year with a map for a single teacher or split group to fit your timetable.

This resource is mainly aimed at staff with responsibilities of staff and their own CPD. It includes a PowerPoint explaining the concept to staff which can be gone through in a faculty/department training session. There is then a questionnaire for staff to appraise themselves on their training needs and strengths. This is then collated into a spreadsheet to analyse the training needs and strengths of the faculty. It will highlight staff willing to complete training, which requires it and whether weaknesses are highlighted and outside agencies are needed. This analyse can then be printed A3 for the faculty to review. It also highlights who staff should talk to when they need support in certain areas. The main areas of the questionnaire are teaching and learning, ICT skills, subject knowledge and curriculum knowledge. This was originally set up for a science faculty but easily modified to cater for any subject and any areas. The spreadsheet is unlocked and editable.

Differentiation and Randomisation Teacher Tool

Tired of spending time grouping your pupils by ability or for support. Want to group by literacy or numeracy. Feed up of the same pupils answering questions. Don't wont to waste time with the named lolly sticks random approach. Then this quick to set up, even quicker to use tool is for you. A whole school, non-subject specific tool designed to use a list of pupil names with linking subject, literacy and numeracy data as a teaching aid. Once the data is pasted in, which is a few minutes of work, then all tasks are completed for you by clicking built in buttons within the spreadsheet. The two main features are: Data related selection and grouping Random selection of single or grouped pupils. The main purpose of the use of random selection is to keep pupil focus as it removes choice from the teacher. Selecting which task you want is as easy as selecting the right tab at the bottom and then clicking the required buttons. It’s that simple. It will sort into differentiated groups of similar abilities based on either subject data, literacy data or numeracy data, with an included feature of randomly selecting these groups for feedback or other tasks. Refresh to arrange by a different choice. It will also arrange by groups with ranged abilities for peer support work, again on subject, literacy or numeracy with a random group selector option as well. It will randomly select a single pupil from a class list to keep pupils focussed and on task. It will also randomly group your class into groups from 2-10 based on your selection. It has a random number selector where you can select the min and max values if you wish to randomly select values to use. You may have numbered groups and then this will select which group answers. This is designed to be an all-round supportive teaching aid for you to be able to very easily and quickly differentiate, peer support and randomise your classes. Easily copied and pasted into PowerPoint to display groups to pupils with no raw data in view. Good for seating plans and ready to use instantly for your classes once data is in. Update your data termly to keep grouping relevant to your teaching needs. A set of MOCK data has been left in the document so that you can see how it should work upon download. Replace with your groups and off you go.

Cross Curricular Creative Project: Science, English and ICT

(0)
This is a set of lessons, resources, homework and schemes of work targeted at cross curricular links between Science, English and ICT for KS3 pupil. The theme is “Your Favourite Movie” and the pupils are to build a portfolio of graded activities to create their project. It was designed to fit the timetable for my school where the year 7 and 8’s had a creative curriculum day once a week with three teachers assigned; one Science, English and ICT. The pupils would then take a lead on how they would manage their time over a term. They would select from a range of activities each week, themed to each subject, and would allocate themselves for the day. All these activities would then build up to their “Creative Diploma” for that term. It worked by building a project from their 6 best activities from a selection of 9. This obviously may not fit your timetable model but could easily be adapted to be run over a much longer period of time as cross curricular after school clubs of summer holiday projects etc. Each activity is built up from many smaller tasks leading to a grade for that piece of work using level ladders. All tasks are written and presentable straight to the pupils with clear guidance, instructions, tasks, questions, homework and level ladders. The level ladders are based around now, next, further and advanced so not grade or level based but easily editable to fit your school model. Activities range from building circuits, podcasts, web design, writing scripts, costume design, cameras and lenses, the behaviour of light and filters and theme songs. Each individual activity linked back to their “Favourite Movie” concept building a solid link between these three subjects. A fun and practical way to cover a huge variety of subjects and topics from within these three specific curriculums.
