Matching Uppercase and Lowercase Letters (Fishing for Letters)

(0)
Alphabet: This is a wonderful way to get students to practice their letter identification and sounds. Simply cut out the alphabet fish cards and place a paper clip over each card. Fishermen (kids) will use their fishing line to catch a fish. The fishing lines can be bought commercially or made with a short stick, 20 inches of store string and a small magnet for the fishhook. Each child gets a turn trying to catch fish. If he can call a word that begins with the consonant sound on the fish he has caught, he may keep the fish. If he is unable to think of a suitable word he returns the fish, face down to the fishpond. This activity is for both small and large groups and is self-directed. Enjoy! Nicole A Teacher's Idea
