Fractions
Fractions is a fun filled activity for your students to get the hang of the identification of fractions. Your kiddos would find it very easy to name fractions after this fun set of task cards. All they have to do is determine how much of the food is eaten then record them on the cards. I suggest that you print and laminate the cards so that they can be used over and over, year after year. As a bonus I made some concept posters to go along with the theme for a visual reference in your classroom. I mostly included fractions up to sixths.
This pack includes the following food fraction task cards and posters:
20 Pizza task cards
28 Chocolate Chip Cookies task cards
23 Chocolate Bar task cards
7 Waffles task cards
36 Apples task cards
20 Chewing gum strips task cards
(Answers are not included)
These set of six can be separated as different Math centers based on food type or they can be kept together as one fraction activity.
5 Fraction Concept Posters
4 sets of food cut-outs are also included.
Enjoy!

Martin Luther King: Martin Luther King Day: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Kid-Friendly Dreams and Quotes Posters with Cards. This resource is a fantastic investment for the celebration of Dr Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday on January 15th, for Black History Month and for general use any time of year. When I created these posters and quote cards I thought about making this resource meaningfully appropriate for themes that emanate out of Dr King's speeches. Freedom, nonviolence, love, hope, equality and unity are just a few ideas that are suggested in these posters. I also added a kid-friendly touch to some posters to break down Dr' King's messages for the lower elementary students. A writing activity sheet is also included.

This set of colorful display posters or visual aids were designed around the holiday song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas", which was first published in 1780. They depict each of the Twelve Days of Christmas in cute and kid-friendly graphics. This is a lovely resource that can be used in a sequencing activity or to simply share this song with your children.
Included in this download are both the COLORED version and a BLACK AND WHITE version for ink economy.
** Fishing for Multiple Meanings** is the perfect addition to your literacy centers for both word work and writing focus. This handy set of 135 dual picture cards can be used to spark sentence writing and for your Homonyms | Homographs | Multiple Meaning Words unit. These words represent some of the many common words that can be used in different context. With multiple meaning words the spelling is the same and pronunciation are the same. However, some pronunciations may vary slightly. I included two graphic organizers for extended writing purposes.
Homophone Memory Sheets are a fantastic way to get your students to remember the spelling of confusing homophones. Research has shown that when students use drawings and illustrations with words they make meaningful associations thus facilitating easy recall. Let your kiddos draw their own pictures to remember the homophones. In the case of low imagery words that cannot be depicted students can either find their own unique way to remember the word or simple leave it blank. The trick is that the other word in the pair would help them to make that distinction in spelling. Students can compile the sheets and form their own homophone dictionary for future reference.
Included in this set is a blank template for adding more pairs to the set.
Classroom Rules. It is always a good idea to set your class on the right path from day one. It is also a good idea to create the rules with your students. However, I want to share some baseline rules that I believe can transcend any classroom simply because they collectively spell out most of what teachers would want for their classrooms. The following rules are contained in this set:-
We enter our classroom quietly and all lined up.
We leave our classroom quietly and all lined up.
We listen when others are talking, especially our teacher.
We look carefully and follow the directions of our teacher.
We use a quiet voice and tone. We only speak louder when presenting.
We are kind and respectful to our teachers and to each other.
We help keep our classroom clean and tidy at all times..
We always keep our hands and feet to ourselves.
We raise our hands when we have a question or when we need help.
We share with our friends when they are in need.
We work quietly at our desks and do not disturb our neighbors.
We walk carefully in the classroom and hallway.
We always greet our visitors with a smile when they enter our classroom.
I am pretty sure that they cover a wide area. However, if you are in need of additions to this set, let me know through the question and answer tab below..

Feelings: We have many feelings in common, some are good and some are bad. However, the difference lies in what we do with them. In this poster set there are 12 colored Feelings posters and 12 black and white posters all sized 8.5 x 11 for elementary classrooms. That is a total of 24 posters. These posters show kids who share common feelings and emotions using various facial expressions and body positioning. They are aptly named :-

Place Value: Lending a Helpful Hand- A Place Value Story for Kids: Here is an original story that explains the place value concept of ones, tens and hundreds using three characters. The story describes the 'carrying over' principle in a simple storyline with bright graphics. I also included a place value mat which uses the same characters from the story. The mat can be used to introduce the concept until your kids are able to explain the process clearly. I suggest that you use craft sticks as counters initially so that your students can role play the events of the story.

TIPS: To ensure that every child has an opportunity and responsibility assign two students per job. This also encourages job-sharing or working together as a partnership. You can either designate the jobs to students, have them choose or apply for a position A good idea is to rotate the jobs either daily, weekly, or quarterly, it’s your choice. You can make the transitions easier by having a “training” session by the previous student to help the next student to do the job efficiently.
If you want your students to become responsible while building a community spirit, give them responsibilities. Classroom Jobs are a great way for students to take responsibility for their classroom.
This simple mini book allows young students to write simple sentences that capture the true meaning of Christmas. Each page contains engaging graphics that makes writing both fun and engaging as they color and write about different Christmas elements that can be quite familiar to them. This makes a great activity for students ages 5 to 7.
These cards can be used to assist young students to visually grasp this somewhat difficult concept. They would be able to trace their own sequencing ideas in which stories and events can occur. Students get an opportunity to:-
-Follow directions
-Discriminate between pictures
-Improve visual awareness
-Retell stories and events in sequence
-Build oral vocabulary skills
-Build narrative (story) skills
-Improve sequencing skills
-Ask and answer “wh” questions themselves for clarity
SUGGESTED USE:
These simple picture cards are lots of fun to sequence! Kids will arrange them in logical order to complete each sequence. Use these simple COLOR-CODED picture sequencing cards to practice sequencing in 4-scene sets with your young detectives.
DIFFERENTIATION/EXTENSION:
For students having difficulty with sequences it is suggested that you scaffold learning by working individually with them as a guide on the side, gradually releasing support as time goes by. To start, simply select one sequence set and present the final picture first to allow him or her to see the BIG PICTURE. Then have the student place the remaining pictures in the correct order back up to the beginning to complete the sequence.
For the stronger students you can challenge them to write the story in sequence using the cards as a guide. They can write two or three sentences about each card then ultimately putting sentences together to create their own piece.
CONTENTS OF RESOURCE:
This set includes:
–>4-Scene Sequencing Cards
There are 80 cards that form 20 sequences
Each card measures 2.83" x 3.5". Each set is COLOR-coded to facilitate easy ordering.
–>2 four-scene mats
–>1 Story/Event Sequencing writing sheet
Simply print the cards and mats and laminate for longevity. This set makes a great center activity.
