Picnic in the Park

This is a great nostalgic picture, with exercises to reinforce the present continuous and past simple tenses for EAL students. I play 'Splat!' and memory games with this kind of thing. I was kindly given permission to use the picture.

Naughty Flame!

This is a short narrative in the past simple, with language exercises: true or false, cloze, match up and comprehension questions. It will be useful for years 5, 6, 7 and EAL pupils. My thanks to Ravensburger puzzles for permission to use this great picture. Isn't Flame a beaut?

Some literacy activities for Christmas - 'how many words can you make from...?&' with fly in answers. Jumbled words of Christmas vocabulary and two Christmas pictures for memory games, with questions.

NASSEA Step levels for students

(1)
I have simplified the language of the NASSEA steps, so that students can be involved in their assessments and understand where they are and what their targets are.
The Circulatory System

The Circulatory System

(2)
This is a worksheet for EAL students. It focuses on key words to do with the circulatory system and breathing. Correct the mistakes, unscramble the words, answer the questions. Your EAL students can do this while the rest of the class does more advanced work.
Compare and Contrast

Compare and Contrast

(1)
This is a series of contrasting pictures, with questions, for making comparisons. Good 'brain gym&' activity.

Arranged marriage vs love marriage

(1)
This is a picture-based discussion exercise. I give my students some time to look at the sheet. Then , in pairs, they each have to argue one case or the other. Makes a great starter to 'Romeo and Juliet&'.
Mythical Creatures

Mythical Creatures

This makes a good starter or filler activity. The first slide explains the activity and the second models it. Then, give each group a picture and ask them to mind map it. For extension, have them compare any two pictures.

Six Starters using a Grid

(3)
Here is a selection of fun starters/ activities using a grid. Only one needs any preparation; you can just go with the others. Adaptable to most subject matter.
Find and correct the mistakes.

Find and correct the mistakes.

(2)
There are forty sentences here, with 90 mistakes to find and correct. A full key is provided. This will make a good starting point for some SPAG activities, or provide a nice little filler activity. ** Note**: it looks a bit strange on the preview, but it’s fine when downloaded.

Daily Routine: Robert's Day

(2)
This is a series of pictures and comments about a boy's day to reinforce the present simple - what he normally/usually/sometimes does etc.. There is reading, sequencing, match up (sentences and pictures), true or false and a gap fill activity. Thanks to my colleague Sophia in Ukraine for the template. I&'ve done this for my EAL class, but it may suit younger pupils.
Little Red Riding Hood

Little Red Riding Hood

This is a play with 9 parts (easily adaptable). I am doing a topic on fairy tales, leading on to Shrek. I acted this out with my EAL students.
Witches for Halloween!

Witches for Halloween!

(3)
Six witches, each with an exercise. After completing the exercises, they can cut them up, jumble them, then match the right passage to the picture before sticking in their books. Just a bit of fun!
Famous Quotations

Famous Quotations

(4)
Quotes on various areas of life: happiness, success, family, technology in the classroom etc.... The students analyse, compare and contrast and make up their own. Each slide could be used as a starter to get your students thinking or to promote debate. They could end by producing an inspirational poster.
ISIS Attack in Paris

ISIS Attack in Paris

Some slides to help explain what happened in Paris, if not why. Suitable for younger students. There are some activities to ensure comprehension and hopefully promote some thinking. If there is anything inappropriate, please let me know.
Jack makes his New Year's Resolutions.

Jack makes his New Year's Resolutions.

I uploaded a different copy of this earlier, which I have now deleted. This one is better! It's a reading passage with exercises, including making resolutions for different people and a cloze exercise. Also, the main passage uses &'said&'; many times - presenting a good opportunity to practise using alternative words to 'said&'.
