A one page document that covers the theories of sociology across the 6 topics of studying society, family, education, crime, media and inequality. The document offers summary statements that can allow pupils to develop further arguments and make more links. It worked really well with my Year 11s especially the lower and middle ability pupils who were able to interpret suggest and make statements about the theories in their 5 and 12 mark responses.
A Tool to support targeting at a range of abilities. Pupils who are low/middle ability can be easily targeted whilst those at the top can also understand the range of marks needed. This is based on the first Year AQA 9-1 Results and cumulative grade boundaries for AQA over time. Colleagues can use it to improve predictions, inform progress and easily support pupils to aspire to higher levels of progress.

Simple revision sheet for all pupils studying the AQA A 9-1 GCSE Islam unit. Summarises the main parts between articles and pillars in Sunni Islam. The majority of questions in beliefs and practices focus on the 6 articles and 5 pillars. This would be ideal for Grade 3-6 students and it has also been good for grades 7-9 as a form of revision.
This resource can be printed on A4 and acts as a bridge between beliefs and practices
In the updated SOW for GCSE Christianity, there is an emphasis on links.
Pupils can use this in the following way:
Revision tool/knowledge organiser
Highlight key words
Allocate a range of influences to each belief and then rank them in importance or relevance to promote higher levels of understanding
Number each influence and allocate to each belief beginning which ones apply to most of them.
Teachers can use it to:
develop pupil’s written response with small chunks of information on influences and importance.
For example, the crucifixion has obvious influences but also has specific responses.
pupils can be stretched to further develop each influence or practice to show deeper understanding especially for 4, 5 and 12 mark extended writing.
Check knowledge and understanding through quizzing
Pupils can do self test (I do, we do, you do)
In class discussion, teacher can call target pupils with each belief and see how many influences they can recall or link.
In class discussion, pupils can make active links to the beliefs and practices.
A story board to support the AQA A Islam 9-1 Beliefs and practices. Ideal for lower ability and for use with higher ability pupils who may omit basic beliefs when developing their responses.
A list of beliefs and practices with key bits in bold to support learners who revise best through lists. I have tried to reduce fact so it is in small chunks. Pupils can use the sheet printed on 4 sheets per page and fold for a mini cards revision list. Supports learners of all abilities. As a teaching tool can be used to check misconceptions, affirm previous learning and be used a tick sheet to self reflect on what pupils know.

A Quick guide to supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs based on the most common exam commands from the AQA Spec B GCSE Religious Studies Course. The commands apply across a range of subjects that are 100% written exam. The command response table has allowed colleagues to scaffold commands and support TA's to develop more independence.
A self and peer assessment presentation to support pupils with marking theirs and others written answers using the AQA Mark Scheme for levels of response. The spec ends next year but these slides can support marking and teaching or preparation for mock and final exams. I have used the Specification to formulate the slides.
This is for colleagues teaching the AQA Spec B Religion and Life issues course. The topic is about early life and abortion. It focusses on using the exemplar answers to develop better written answers. The Presentation will benefit other topics by focussing on the skills and level of response. Great for revision and getting pupils to write more and develop their responses.

Hi all. Please see my key words glossary for Unit 1 AQA Sociology covering every key word from the specification in pupil friendly language. You can use this for revision, planning and interventions. I think it could be really helpful as the subject can be very wordy and pupils can lose confidence. This will help pupils quickly understand the key words and how to apply them. Please do leave feedback as these resources will continue to be developed for another two years until a new reformed Sociology course begins. Thanks for your time. best wishes
Hi colleagues I have put together responses for every 4 mark question since 2011 in AQA Paper 1 Studying Society. Repeat questions and topics have also not been included. I used recalled AQA scripts, the relevant Mark scheme and teacher marking to write them. Hope it helps
I have been teaching this for over a year now and have found that pupils can have difficulty accessing the terminology. So I have developed this Key words list using the AQA Glossaries to cover Topics in Unit 2 crime, media and inequality. Every key word is covered to ensure pupils can maximise their marks across the questions. You can use them for quizzes, setting 12 Mark questions, short tests etc. Thanks for your support.
