It starts with introducing the endocrine system as well as the various endocrine glands in the human body. It then moves on to discussing hormones including the different types of hormones and their actions. There is then a comparison of hormonal communication and neuronal. A complete lesson covering part of AQA GCSE Biology section 4.5.3.3 Maintaining water and nitrogen balance in the body. The lesson starts with 7 retrieval questions based on paper 1 of AQA Biology. It then moves onto the water balance and the ways in which the body loses and gains water. The lesson then looks at osmosis and cells with some review questions. The next activity looks at the way the filter works with an optional diagram of the kidney to label. Again with review questions and an exam question.
