Centripetal Acceleration A2 Physics 9702 Cambridge international Education (CIE)
This lesson starts with a starter on linear velocity before moving on to centripetal acceleration and then linking centripetal acceleration to Newton’s second law to derive an equation for centripetal force. Designed for Cambridge (CIE) unit 9702, for 2022 onward and 2025 onwards specification.
Regular learning checks throughout the lesson. Questions come with worked solutions.
Centripetal Force practical A2 Physics 9702 Cambridge international Education (CIE)
This is a practical lesson on centripetal force, with all steps given Designed for Cambridge (CIE) unit 9702, for 2022 onward and 2025 onwards specification.
Gravitational field for A2 Physics 9702 Cambridge international Education (CIE)
This lesson covers what is meant by the term field, before moving onto gravitational fields specifically. It looks at how gravitational fields are radial, but can be considered uniform close to the surface of a planet. It then derives the formula for gravitational force. All questions come with worked solutions
Designed for Cambridge (CIE) unit 9702, for 2022 onward and 2025 onwards specification, but is also applicable to other specifications such as the UK AQA one.
Gravitational potential for A2 Physics 9702 Cambridge international Education (CIE)
After a starter on gravitational field strength, this lesson continues with a brief recap of gravitational potential energy from IGCSE/AS Physics, before brining in the idea that a gravitational field is radial, so WD = mgh doesn’t work over a large distance. It then looks at gravitational potential. All questions come with worked solutions
Designed for Cambridge (CIE) unit 9702, for 2022 onward and 2025 onwards specification, but is also applicable to other specifications such as the UK AQA one.
Gravitational field of a point mass for A2 Physics 9702 Cambridge international Education (CIE)
This lesson covers deriving Newton’s Law of gravitation and several problems around using the formula, inlcluding why ‘g’ isn’t a always exactly the same, but can be considered a constant on Earth. Questions come with worked solutions.
Designed for Cambridge (CIE) unit 9702, for 2022 onward and 2025 onwards specification, but is also applicable to other specifications such as the UK AQA one.
CIE Physics 9702 Circular motion and gravitational fields Unit 12 & 13 end of unit test
This is a short end of unit test for Units 12 and 13, circular motion and gravitational fields for(CIE) unit 9702, including mark scheme and PowerPoint presentation going through the answers with the students. I gave the students 25 minutes for the test, and was then able to mark a full class of 8 students work in under 10 minutes. This meant that in 1 lesson the students could sit the test, I was able to mark the test and then go through all the answers with the students.
