This is probably hands-down one of my FAVORITE lessons. At first it began by simply being a "how to" writing project for my kiddos. It then went into a hands-on science experiment where my kids were able to "experience" what it is like to prepare a body for burial like the ancient Egyptians. This activity has been tested and tweaked several times. I have had so much success with it, I have used it for my formal observation. I have had our district PR rep come and take pictures to use on our district website. This activity is student run with very little assistance needed by you the teacher.
