Some weeks ago, I thought about using ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle in my classes, but since I couldn’t find a nice version to print out, I decided to edit this one, showing bigger letters in a ‘Big Book’ style. In contrast to the original book version, I included one fruit per page so that the phrases are more easily-read. This adapted book is designed in such a way that when you print it out horizontally, the pages that require two pages will be standing next to one another. I printed it out in A3 size and had it laminated so as to make it more durable and easier to flip through (It was useful to work with predictions). I hope you find it useful as well! They have have to follow the instructions shown in the slides and film themselves as if they were their favorite people! The file includes an example and a format that students can follow. This is a presentation that I created for a writing workshop. It focuses on the basic organization of writing a description along with the steps involved in it. It is mainly aimed at students with an upper intermediate level of English.

In these slides, you’ll find authentic and contextualized grammar practice to help students master the present tense (simple and continuous) and past tense (past continuous). The tasks are based on the movie ‘Enola Holmes’ which Netflix launched last September 23 2020. This movie is so good and the perfect excuse to get students to practice grammar in a controlled but purposeful and meaningful way. For each tense, your students will have a grammar explanation and practice activities based on the movie (this is not a comprehension worksheet but the exercises have to do with the movie - that’s why students must watch it to make the tasks more relevant to them). I really hope this product helps your students with grammar!
