Using the elements of shape and colour - working in the style of Henri Matisse taking inspiration from his work to draw a pattern using organic shapes and colouring them in using primary and secondary colours. A simple baseline test which focuses on student’s prior knowledge of Art from Primary School learning - looking at the 6 visual elements (colour, texture, line, tone and pattern). Additionally - a transition sheet with key terms and small tasks for students to complete, the idea is to ease them into secondary Art learning and provide basic art’s knowledge on what they will be studying for the year ahead.
