I have taught all levels from kindergarten to adult continuing education. I love languages and am constantly working on improving and adding to them. I believe that if students have fun, they will learn faster and remember longer. I try to have students speak in the target language as much as possible during the limited time that they are in class.

This is an all-class mixer speaking activity. It includes 18 unique sets of twins. Each student sheet has 5 statements (“C’est l’ordinateur de la fille”). Vocabulary used is classroom-related. Students mingle, trying to find their twin (the other person who has all 5 of the same statements, though in a different order). This is a low-stress activity focusing on speaking and listening. It can easily be edited to match the vocabulary from your text.

Print on card-stock and cut on solid lines into cards. Distribute all cards. The student with the card “I begin” starts the activity by reading the first verb in English. Students must listen and the one with that verb in French reads it and then the new verb. Students continue until all cards are used and the “I finish” card is read.
